Since "Bambi" was based on the novel "Bambi: A Life in the Woods," I've been pondering lately on what things from the novel were directly used for the film. Two I can think of off the top of my head are: 1) The shot of the two dead autumn leaves detaching from the tree branch and falling to the ground. There is a chapter in the novel which focuses on two autumn leaves that "talk" to each other briefly before dying and falling off the tree branch. 2) The shift between the part when the Great Prince of the Forest leads young Bambi away deep into the snowy forest (after telling him about the death of the mother and saying "Come, my son") to the part where it's springtime and the song "Let's Sing a Gay Little Spring Song" is heard (all this meaning that a passage of time occured). This sort of happens in the novel, too: there is the emotional scene when Bambi realizes that his mother is dead and doesn't come back, and then it shifts to springtime a couple years later with Bambi all grown up. If there are any other parallels anyone else here can think of, go ahead and post them here.

Holy Hell! What's happening here? a NEW post? Wonderful.
I THINK that the scene in which Bambi's Mam's killed are very similar. I'm not entirely sure, but I think that his father came and told him that his mother can't be with him, or words similar. I think that the opening in the clearing's very similar two, and the ending with the two newborn fawn (I'm a poet and I didn't know it!).
